JANUARY 24TH IS THE OFFICIAL RELEASE DATE!!!!!!
It’s been a bumpy road, but this record is finally ready and we CANNOT wait for you to hear it!
For now I’ll keep the promo and surprises coming…
Lynne and I re-adapted the white classic “Christian Wife” by the ever prudent Louvin Brothers into something a little more fun. We originally set out to make something else for my record but this is what came out of our session, along with plenty of laughter and the idea to make some more music together in the future. Check out Lynne’s music here {http://www.myspace.com/lynnepiper}
Here two songs presented as one piece.Both from my new record “CANNONBALL!!!” produced by Astronautalis & Radical Face.When Andy and I started with these tracks, our goal was to make something neither of us could call our own, with the idea to push me into some new territory much like Ben(Radical Face) did for Andy years before.What turned into a complete clusterfuck of all night sessions, lost files, re-recording, and flights across the country eventually yielded this.And I think it’s AWESOME! I hope you do as well.

This is the first preview of my new record “CANNONBALL!!!” produced by Astronautalis & Radical Face. Bonfigliara is the village where my father comes from in Italy. “Giehe” is how my grandfather spelled my name on the bottles of wine he made for me the year I was born. Each of the men in our family has his own row of bottles on a shelf in the cellar of our family home, bottled by “Guiseppe” with hand-written tags. Mine says “geihe 1977″. In 10+ years of making music this is the first song that I have made in which I’m actually proud to present to my family. I hope you enjoy it too.

You turned the original awesome into an impressive song, I must say. I hope those you wrote it for enjoy it as much as I am. Amazing story.
My whole family couldn’t believe you wrote a song about Bonfigliara, where my aunt and uncle own a place! The best part is, though: Nora is still alive to hear it – at least in September she was still there. All the best from Köln/Germany
WOW!!! Amazing! My father told me Nora had passed
…either way I am happy to make your family smile..small world! I’ll be in Germany in Feb!
Hey Bleubird!
Diggin your new tunes! I love Giehe 1977! Not only the sincerity and love come streaming through this song, but also a softness that is comforting to listen to. Oh, and I really like the hook/chorus. I hope you and your family are well and I wish you all the best!!! Love to you always!!! Your CB Smith camp buddy from back in the day… XXX
