I was living with Scott in Montreal off of rue de St. zotique, everytime we had a new release we would have to carry all the boxes up the eigth flights of stairs and stack them in our living room, i remember doing it the dead of winter, sweating in my stupid coat and clunky boots which were all too big for me. Sometimes they would get dropped off at scott’s office and we would have to borrow kid koala’s dolly (with perpetually low tires) and cart them the ten blocks to our flat, that was atleast a two coffee mission. This record was definitely fueled by coffee, i frequented three different shops in three different neighborhoods, each with thier own flavor, charm, and strength..The vocal booth in my bedroom and was pretty much the best thing ever…she was and still is called “space moon snow caat”, we drilled a hole through the wall in my closet to run the cables to the control board in scott’s room. Alias came through big time once again, and all was up in the air for a brief moment on subtitle’s birthday when he sold out his dinner date to come make a song with us….which pretty much sealed the deal, and grenoble was born. Also, I almost killed myself coming down tonto’s iced over staircase with $1000 of rented camera equipment in my hands the night we took the picture for the cover! I make weird!

It was my first week in Montreal and i was living on scott’s couch, thanks to my friend Lynne i had a bicycle and a job within a few days, it was hot time summer in the city and i was fucking excited! One day i was working on the collage for the cover at the kitchen table and scott’s friend “mike” who was visiting from ottowa just strolled in butt ass naked…I think he had some silly myspace romance with scott’s other roomate “carol” and was just trying to fluster her, scott snapped a poloroid and hung it on the fridge, he said something like “there now everybody can see your little dicky”, to which mike replied ” i don’t fucking care let the whole world see!” ,so i non chalantly slipped it off the fridge and taped it to the bottom corner and said “done!”…People always ask if it’s me, people also ask if i was really in the military, i always say yes, but i wouldn’t go without my mustang. This entire album was put together in the name of fun…dude…crybaby chopped and screwed! i’m sayin…

When i met scott from endemik he was like “so who’s putting out your album”, and i was like ,” my album?”, i went home, grabbed some clothes collected some beats, wrote some songs, and flew back to halifax, i think we recorded all the vocals in two days.(except for super mario cart, that was recorded at my friend wigger’s house in Orlando with like 20 people standing around like “Oh shit he’s making a song with sole!”..crybaby crunk was the last one we finished. Everything just fell into place, Endemik was my new home, J.Lapointe was my new favorite engineer, and Thesis+ Tonto were my new favorite artists.

shit i don’t even have one of these or know the tracklisting, i don’t even think that’s the actual title…just something i photocopied for a cover, i know it had the word “hoople” in it, which is what my mother used to call me+mott. I basically just made these to go on tour with grand buffet.
