I’m a sucker for any roadside attraction, especially one as mysterious as “The Thing”. It’s adverts span 100 miles in each direction, and it only costs $1.00. My kind of Americana. Next we head straight into the Lion’s Den.

Leaving Truth or Consequences en route to Silver City we had to drive through a mountain pass in the Gila national Forest. Just as the snow began to fall we happened upon this strange little cemetery. Don’t let the laughter fool you, shit was dangerous! Seemingly endless winding roads flanked by steep cliffs, just us and the fucking snow plow. This entire part of the trip still feels like a dream. Space is the place! #SPAKED #DUCKBIBS #RADDUDECEMETERY

Leaving the petroglyphs we perused the map of AZ looking for a destination. When my eyes settled on the words “Truth or Consequences” the car started moving before my mouth did to form the words, “there’s a town called Truth or fucking Consequences in Arizona!” Yes it’s true…it’s there. It’s almost like we flew there, like it was a giant #FREEEBIRD magnet.

Somehow we found ourselves at some kind of rave at the VFW in downtown Santa Fe??? and Keezy convinced a bunch of strangers to come out into the parking lot and pile into the #FREEEBIRD to rock out with us. Call it rapper’s charm. The next day he drew us a map to the petroglyphs and we parted ways…venturing deeper into the desert of New Mexico.

Getting deeper into the desert Kin Keezy guides us into strange and beautiful territory, Dug gets sicker and begins his sleeping bag ascension…Scott spits the sickest most disgusting-gross freestyle, and the adventure continues.

I first met Kin Keezy at a battle in the design district in Miami…before it was the design district. His boy served me and we became fast friends. On the move as much as me, we never spent much time together in Florida. So when I told him we were going to come through Santa Fe it had been long past overdue. He told us the best bet for a good glimpse of the real Santa Fe was to meet he and his family at the farmers/art market at 8AM Sat morning. So we drove through the night from Texas and slept in a few parking lots before the sun rose…then we hazily stumbled out into the city to see what we could find.

Stuck in the never-ending-yet-tons-o-fun-vortex of Texas. Dug, Fishh, and bird venture into the Sonic ridden railyard suburbs of Pilot Point where they happily huck beer bottles at ghost trains fireside, singing resin-scraped kitchen anthems and ignoring all the rules of American grammar. In Amarillo Dug explains how the girth of his weanus is far from impressive in the shadow of the ol’ 72er and no free meatsteak was had. The conclusion was that while the bathrooms were fun and the location made for great pics, the place stunk like poop.

ME-“Shep how do you feel about a rap show out in the parking lot?”
SHEP-“Well it is singles going steady night with 32Cent wells…”
ME+SHEP “DONE!”
With 4LOCO coursing through our veins, Dug+Scott+I rocked the parking lot then enjoying some drunken singles mingling. Rubba Gloves style, fun was had, ladies was mad! and Humper was gorilla pressed over the Lumber Jacks head. The End.
