I thought this footage was lost, hence the jump in the timeline[sheeeeeet..this ain’t Quantum Leap!] Before I left Florida Coco Rosie came and played downtown Ft. Lauderdale, I’ve never had the pleasure of seeing them live PLUS my good friend TEZ is their beatboxer…TEZ and I met at a festival in Montreal years ago, and have since performed together in Paris and at the festival Les 3 Elephants. He is by far my favorite beatboxer as well as one of my favorite people in the world. It was a pleasure to have him up in the bird! I know this vid is super long (I actually edited some out) but I hear a lot of complaints about the lack of footage of me rapping…hopefully this with satiate your thirst. Also, this is just the nature of TEZ and I performing together…we never want to stop! It even inspired Jasper to rap! which is RARE! enjoy…

Yes, Randy from The Body Shop (Louisiana Tattoo Party) in Slidell jumped in the #FREEEBIRD and agreed to set up shop for the night. Yes, I parked it right in front of Tipitinas the night Doomtree was playing on their “Wings and Teeth” tour. Yes, Mike Mictlan and P.O.S. got tattooed while eating sushi+baby Octopi. Yes, I also played a show in he bird after we broke down the mobile tattoo shop. No, I did not trick Annaleigh to say ” I like wieners ” on camera again. No, the police or club did not care. Yes, tons of fun and adventure was had…and yes…i slept for 3 hours then drove to Austin like a BOSS!

Another adventure begins! Redeye drives, Sluggos, Ryan’s Mustache, the Pensacola late night karaoke underbelly, and good ol’ fashion front porch friendship freckles & Stick-n-Pokes! This is the start of a 5 month run that took me across the nation and back, with a nice one month stint in France wedged in the middle. Stay with me!

When my homegirl Melly axed if I wanted to see her friend “Anne Grre Secs” in her first roller derby i said “NO Doi!” Lots of circles were skated, lots of girls were elbowed, and at one point Melly was reprimanded for the sexiness of her poster…I for one stand by that sexiness…turns out it was just a jelly teammate who wished she had the most amazing poster made for her…loser.

These things are fucking weird…

When Nobs told me Hugo and the crew were coming in from California for RTB and looking to rent a van I contacted them straight away and said NO NEED. I offered them the use and services of the #FREEEBIRD&CO in exchange for getting me into the festival on their vendor pass. Hugo informed me that this would include running around NJ “renting” tables+tents, and packing the RV with 10+boxes of shirts/groceries, dudes ect… PLUS a midnight run to DC…I did not hesitate to tell him I was up for the adventure. Hugo is a true professional with many tricks up his sleeve from “renting” tents from Home Depot, to filling up garbage bags with ice&beer to slip in un-detected. My man BallerB was also coming in from FL and our main goal was to have him tattoo Yelawolf in the #FREEEBIRD…after 2 sleepless sun/music drenched days we were to the point of setting up the mobile tatt studio&camera tripod when Baller got the call from Wolf saying he can’t make the sitting because of some East Coast PR junket…still the adventure was not lost, we plowed through like true pirates and eventually i awoke in motel in Queens alone and decided it was high time for me to cannonball run back to FL. I made a quick stop in Union City to visit my good friend ODDATEEE at Buckruby studios. ODD is affiliated with DALEK/DEADVERSE and we share the same French booking agent which means we’ve also shared stages all over europe from Hungary to Lyon, as well as cramp European eco-rent tour vans, and anything from fancy Czech hotels to crusty Swiss squat beds. We took a trip upstate to visit one of his digging friends “Rockin Rex”, to discuss the beginnings of the NY punk/hardcore scene, Bleeker Bobs, record collecting, and rare 45’s…A champion of counter culture in the upstate area, he ran a record store in Yonkers in the 90’s, and still maintains a heavy presence online trading in rarities. www.the-rockin-rex.com
