Freeebird #036 – BBBrooklyn!

I have always loved and been fascinated with New York city. My moms was born and raised in Flatbush, and before this every visit had been a short one. This night was only the beginning of my foray into the NY adventure. Way back when i did the Burro Bags video Mr.Twachtman had informed me of this loft party. I originally thought I was going to miss it, but when plans changed it was apparent that fate had me by the balls. Why fight it? freeebird!

Freeebird #035 – South of the Border

Anyone who has ever driven up or down I-95 along the east coast knows a little somethin somethin about SOTB, they have ridiculous advertisements for 100 miles in each direction taunting unt tantalizing your curiosity. Then when you finally do stop it’s nothing but a dressed up, run-down, depressed, rest stop. The type of place J.W. Gacy might have a hot dog and stab a methed out trucker. BUT you can get ice cream, firecrackers, and ridiculous fanfare…which i love! So cheers to you SOTB. Pedro is the homie…and mark my words, one of these days I’m gonna stop in again and treat myself to a nice bubble bath, champagne, jacuzzi room extravaganza!

Freeebird #034 – Indie Summerfest Orlando

Some who saw me that day said I looked like i kissfought a freight train. Between setting up power/sound, running a stage out of my RV, performing,AND trying to record/document all i could amidst all the sweat+rain…I must have changed clothes at least 4 times. But perseverance prevailed over perspiration, and like a band of ornery pirates we kept things running! Orlando I love you.

Freeebird #033 – Boyfriends Inc. kill Zombies!

The Zombie Bikes complex in Jacksonville contacted my husband & I and asked if we could possibly sprinkle some zesty hip hop homo love + Bon Jovi memorial cum upon their festive summer’s eve. The kids showed up in full with big smiles and 4Loco coursing through their veins. This night we broke the record for most bodies stuffed inside the freeebird as Andy and I dazzled the sparkles off their pants. Once again, big thanks to Zombie Bikes, Jacksonville,Jack Bothwell and Jack Twachtman, and all of you who celebrated with us.

Freeebird #032 – Burro Bags

Mr. Twatchman is a true Jacksonville mover and shaker, we met through a mutual Andy and within days he had the raddest show ever lined up for us. Then I learned about the company he was involved in and I had to learn more…the learning continued as knowledge of Burro and then CHICKEN&WHISKEY was implanted gracefully into my head…if we weren’t in such a relaxed environment I may have exploded. Weeks after this I caught up with them at a loft party in Williamsburg and witnessed the true power of T&W, which led to me booking them on SWARM 3-D back in Lauderdale…and on and on into oblivion. Check out their website, order a bag or an awesome shirt or bandanna, you NEED IT ALL!!! Support Independent Business!

Freeebird #029 – Blackwood BBQ

When Scott told me he was throwing a BBQ at his house for the Mr.Dibbs show at the Milestone, I just knew I had to be there. The Blackwood family has been throwing shows in Charlotte since before the internet and they sure know how to have a good time. We had planned on doing a Mr. I show in the RV but since everyone had been drinking since 8AM we just ate pork and had a singalong…PORK!

Freeebird #027 – Naptown Russell

I first met Tobias a few years ago when his group Binford & Grey opened up for us in Annapolis. Later when Casey asked me to drop a verse on Tobias’s solo record which he was producing, I was more than down. And when he mentioned Tobias was down to play a show in the RV…It was ON.
